Evidence for the Creator

Western civilization was founded on the realization that a Creator exists. Because of this the founders of modern science had the confidence to further develop their discoveries,
In recent years, this acknowledgment has been replaced with the claim that evolution is fact. But science cannot define reality; it is only an observations tool to explain different concepts. Instead of using science the right way, most modern scientists use it to make predictions and calculations about the past and the future that they cannot prove. The theories from people like Isaac Newton have been replaced by or incorrectly added to by theories from Einstein and countless others. Absolute truth has been left out in the rain to rust and deteriorate while relativity and man’s doctrine have been concreted into today’s society of shifting sand. Though modern science can’t prove God doesn’t exist, they accept the lie that there is no chance of an Intellectual Creator. In their fraction of all knowledge, how can they hope to disqualify the existence of God if there are still innumerable areas they haven’t looked into yet, much less mastered?
The physical evidence of an interacting Creator is all around us. We have the sufficient evidence to support belief in a God who created beautiful, majestic mountains, rushing waterfalls, and the breath-taking colors of fall. To look at nature and say it started as a blob of hydrogen gas is just ludicrous.

Well, today we received news that Hawa is now officially adopted! This development was VERY unexpected and our agent said it could be, at the earliest, only 4 to 6 weeks until she comes home!

Well, today we called Hawa, (the other girl we are trying to adopt), the one we are going to name Trinity, and she said she got her passport. This a huge step in the process of getting her home so we are praising God for that.

Today I went to the annual Labor Day Festival at the park where it's always held and I entered the talent show that I've always been in and I sang a song I wrote called On My Way and played the guitar to accompany Brenna on the banjo.

She got first prize ($40) in the middle school category and I got overall Grand Prize ($100). So yeah- I'm happy.

Helloooo everybody!

Well! I have to say that I'll have lots to say in this post. Sorry about the wait. Things have been pretty crazy around here if you know what I mean. I just wrote a joke that I thought you guys might like. Here it is:

A blonde and her dad are sitting in the living room of their apartment fixing the TV and there are tools laying all over the coffee table. All of a sudden there is a crash and a robber jumps through the window. He has a gun and he yells, "Back against the wall," then slips into the bedroom. The dad grabs a monkey wrench and tells his daughter, "Hurry and call 911; I'm gonna take care of this guy." He runs into the bedroom and the blonde hears a -THUD- -SLAM- -WHAM- and then a -!!CRASH!!- of breaking glass. Her dad comes back in and says, "He got out through the bedroom window; did you call 911?" The blonde sighs and says, "No, I forgot their number."

Dekker crazed

Over the last few weeks I've been reading all kinds of Ted Dekker books And you know if you've ever read his books that he has become my favorite author in the space of two weeks. Wow he is good.

In the last two months, (reading about 30 hours of Dekker), I've read Blink, Blessed Child, A Man Called Blessed, Heaven's Wager, and Thunder of Heaven. Next in line is either The Martyr's Song or The Circle trilogy (I'm leaning towards the Circle, but I'm not sure).

I encourage you to check out all of his books, they are defintely a must read for ages 13 to 99

Ahlers visit

Hello all,
Here are a few pictures of our recent visit to the Ahlers. The long-awaited trip was an absolute blast, from playing in their pool to dancing and singing Liberian music. Another asset of this trip was our visit to the Creation Museum. The museum is owned by Answers in Genesis, a group that teaches the need for creation to be taught as fact. The facility is a must-see for all ages, including a planetarium, special effects theater, animatronic dinosaurs...well, I won't give it all away.

Virginia Tech Shooting

I'd like to write about the tragic event that took place yesterday at Virginia Tech. I heard someone say on the radio that "it was like a college Columbine". I hope and pray that this heartbreaking episode will bring to realization the reality that any of us could die at any moment. We're all part of the ultimate statistic: ten out of ten people die. Passover

I wanted to share with all the readers something significant about the Jewish Feast of Passover. Some of you may know what that is, but for those who don't, I'll give you some background. The feast was first observed by the Israelites in Egypt, and it was to be observed as follows:

¹ The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt,

² "This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.

³ Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household.

⁴ If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with
their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat.

⁵ The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats.

⁶ Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.

⁷ Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.

⁸ That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast.

⁹ Do not eat the meat raw or cooked in water, but roast it over the fire—head, legs and inner parts.

¹⁰ Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it.

¹¹ This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the LORD's Passover.

Notice verse 7:

⁷ Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.

The reason that the Israelites had to do that is because the night of the feast, the Angel of the Lord went throughout Egypt, killing all of the firstborn of Egypt, including livestock and people. The reason God did this is because the Egyptians would not let the Israelites leave Egypt.(This was the tenth and last plague^a that the Lord sent to make the Egyptians let the Israelites go.) Here's the catch; whoever had the blood of a slain lamb on their doorframe would be saved.
Look at verse 12 & 13:

¹² "On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn—both men and animals—and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD.

¹³ The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.

That is where passover comes from.

Let's look at the things on the plate when we eat at Passover:

All of these foods symbolize something. The horseradish signifies sin and is eaten by itself, (along with matzo), and along with the Haroseth later in the meal. Speaking of which, Haroseth signifies redemption and deliverance (consisting of walnuts cinnamon, apples, and other sumptuous ingredients). The shank bone is eaten by itself, and it is just the meat part. The parsley is dipped in saltwater and eaten, reminding us of the tears cried on Egypt. The lettuce is additional but when it is used it goes along with the horseradish. The boiled egg reminds us of the festival sacrifices.

Of course no Passover meal is complete without matzo. Matzo is a flatbread baked without leaven, (more familiarly known as yeast), which is used to make bread rise. Leaven symbolizes pride or sin, thus matzo is baked without it to show that we shouldn't be puffed up with pride. A few more things about matzo: if you notice from the picture, the matzo has tiny
holes and bruises all over it. To Christians, this signifies Christ in the way that he was bruised and pierced for our transgressions (Isaiah 53).

Now we get to the fun part; near the end of the meal, the host prepares the echad, a ornate cloth bag, which contains three slices of matzo. He then removes the middle slice, called the Afikomen, and breaks it in half. He puts half of it back into the echad and wraps the other in linen. He then hides the Afikomen while the children aren't looking. Once he has done this, the children all go out and search for it. Whoever finds it and redeems it to the host is given a reward.
Explanation: The Jews don't know it, but their Afikomen symbolism fits in perfectly with Christ. The three pieces of matzo represent the perfect Trinity; the middle one is taken out, and the other two are left in. Though you do not see them, you know they are there. This represents perfectly the triune God. Jesus came to earth and was seen by thousands, and the Holy Spirit and the Father stayed in heaven. Let's go on. The breaking of the Afikomen symbolizes Jesus' body being broken, (his death), and when the Afikomen is hidden, that represents His burial. When that one lucky child finds the broken piece, that is to symbolize Jesus' resurrection. Isn't it amazing that the Jews celebrate Passover every year, and yet they fail to realize that they are attesting to Christ's very action on earth?

Liberia

Hello all,
I would like to write about four people who have completely changed my life. Those four people are my new brothers and sisters; my family is adopting four children from Liberia, West Africa.

Liberia is located as shown on the map below. The country was in a 15-year civil war until 2003. Constant gunfire, rebel action, and fires have left the country ravaged completely. Children wander the streets, looking for refuge or food. The streets are full of trash and of people. Though Liberia is only about the size of Virginia or Kentucky, the population is a little over 4 million. There is a 90% unemployment rate, and the average income is $15 a week. This is why there are so many orphans; on parent may still be alive, but it is virtually impossible for them to take care of their child. The orphanage that we are adopting from is Daniel Hoover Children's Village. It is located just outside of Monrovia, the capital of the country. The Burgular Alarm

I would like to write about the Burgular Alarm. Or, in other words, the conscience. The word "conscience" means "with" (con) "knowledge" (science). Every time we surf the Internet, have sexual thoughts, or make a decision, we do it with the knowledge that it is right or wrong. If we run across something that we know we shouldn't do or see, an alarm should go off. I would even go as far as saying that it is a still small voice, reprimanding for a certain thing that you know you shouldn't do. Everyone has a conscience; unfortunately, many consciences of this day have been "...seared with a hot iron," (1st Timothy 4:2). They have becomed calloused with sin, hardened by perpetual fault. Thus, their consciences do not warn them of the consequences of sin. Yet everyone knows right from wrong-

"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,"(Romans 1:20)

Finally Getting A "Round Tuit"

Hello all,
Well, I'm back, with a whole new outlook on life and a changed sidebar. It's good to be back.

I guess what has changed my life completely would be how and when I share my faith; seeking and saving the lost.

Here's the difference: I actually do it. Every time I leave the house, I take Gospel tracts. Now you may say, "Gospel tracts?!?," But you see, I'm not talking about the hometown denominational Church tracts, you know, the ones chock full of John and Romans and 1st Corinthians? I'm talking about the tracts of Ray Comfort. His tracts are easy to hand out to just about anybody, strikingly convicting, eye-catching, and they give a thorough yet simple presentation of the gospel. He has dreamed up tracts such as the Million Dollar Bill,

and, the Round Tuit.

Charles Spurgeon, known as the Prince of Preachers, once said,

"...Get good striking tracts, or none at all. But a touching gospel tract may be the seed of eternal life. Therefore, do not go out without your tracts."^a

These are just samples of the wonderful, unique tracts found at Living Waters.

BUT-
Tracts like that are not the only wonderful thing about Living Waters. In fact, there is something far better about the way that this ministry works; it is the method that they use. The basics are founded on the principal of the usage of the "law", the Ten Commandments, while witnessing. By using the law, and words like "sin", "repentance", and "judgment", the Holy Spirit will bring conviction to a person, showing them their sin and their need for a Savior. It's a simple formula: Law to the Proud and Grace to the Humble. The problem is, humble people are few and far between, so it's always better to start out with the law. Without the law the gospel has no relevance. A person does not know that he has sin unless you show it to him by using the law.

According to Todd Friel, the Way of the Master Radio show host,

"...it [the method of using the law while witnessing] does kinda get tagged as the "Ray Comfort" method but I think Ray would be the first one to say, "Yeah, and I stole it from Charles Spurgeon, and Wesley, and Moody, and they stole it from, mm, John the Baptist, and from Jude, and from Peter, and from Jesus Himself so..."

The method of using the law has been found to be historical, as well as biblical. For instance, another quote from Charles Spurgeon is,

"God be thanked when the Law so works as to take off the sinner from all confidence in himself!...This is the whole end of the Law toward men whom God will save."^b

In speaking to the rich young ruler Jesus used the law as well (Luke 18:18)

¹⁸A certain ruler asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

¹⁹"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone.

²⁰You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.'"

²¹"All these I have kept since I was a boy," he said.

²²When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

²³When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was a man of great wealth.

²⁴Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!

²⁵Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

²⁶Those who heard this asked, "Who then can be saved?"

²⁷Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."

It is very easy to see in verse 20 that Jesus cites the Ten Commandments to show the rich young ruler his guilt. Yet in this case, the ruler calls himself perfect; he says that, "All these I have kept since I was a boy,"... Jesus calls him out with the first commandment, telling him to give up the things that stand in the way of following Him. Luke then states that the man went away sad, because he could not give up his worldly goods. In the same way, many people that I talk to on the street say that they love their sin too much to let it go.

As I was reading in Deuteronomy the other day, I came across a blessing/command to the Israelites in chapter 10:

12 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
13 and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good?

Judge Roberts Sworn In

Supreme Court Justice John Roberts was sworn in today. President Bush is looking for another candidate now, and it is interesting, the radio (NPR) that I heard broadcasting is very liberal. They didn't talk a bit about the people who supported Roberts, only those who didn't.

"Kerry, . . .,. . .,. . .,. . .., and many other democrats did not support this nomination."

Ha! They also gave a ton of background info on the proposed democrat second nominees, but just barely mentioned the republican ones. Big time LIBERAL!!! I thank God that He allowed John Roberts to be sworn in. Whoo-Hoo!!!!!!

Four years ago, this nation was attacked with the terror of the middle East. We all know what this day was called: 9-11.
Firefighters losing their own lives to save others, silent prayers as a man jumps from the building in a blind attempt to save his own life. We all remeber it, like bad dream that won't go away, or a flash back of some terrible happening. We must now devote ourselves to pray for the soldiers who are risking their lives in another country, fighting that same terror that made thousands of people buy bumper stickers with slogans like: "Freedom Isn't Free", "These Colors Don't Run","God Bless America", and countless others.

We hope and pray that our soldiers will be able to come home soon, and we thank God for the wonderful leader that George W. Bush is!

Hey. Here is what I think.

I think that the hurricanes are a sign of Jesus' return. Not the second coming, but the rapture. I believe the Tribulation comes after the rapture, and before the second coming and the millenial reign. In Matthew 24:6-8 (NKJV):

"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places. All these [are] the beginning of sorrows."

I believe that God is using these 11 hurricanes (so far) to show signs of his second coming.

Now don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to set dates.

Oh Sweet Sadness When We Part!

Ok... I know you think that that is stupid but it really means a lot to me. You see, my absolute best friend came all the way from a far away state and his Mom just came to pick him up today. Their 7-child family lived here for like almost thirteen years, then packed up and moved to a far away state just for IHOP. I know, you think they're nuts just to move for pancakes, but it this IHOP is not "International House Of Pancakes"; it is "International House Of PRAYER"!
"Oh........ I get it", you say.

I now only get to see him(my best friend) every 2 to 6 months, and it is Heart Wrenching!

Oh well.

Sorry I have not posted lately but we have been doing a lot of "shtuff and nonsense" or 'chores and cleanup", but I'm glad we're getting it done before school starts; And school Doesn't start today; No matter what the schools say. Ok, I'm not trying to be rude, but doesn't it seem like the public schools start earlier each year? We start August 22, and we get just as much school done as they do. Hmph! So there!

The "Job 40-41" Debate

Here is my first full-length article on this blog. Hope you like it!

Many people wonder about the account in Job chapter 40 and 41 about the "behemoth" and the "leviathan."

In Job 40:15, God is basically asking Job: "Who made the Behemoth?! Take a look at him!"

Besides having problems in other places in the Bible, the "Amplified Bible" states as fact that the Behemoth is a hippopotamus:

15 Behold now the behemoth (the hippopotamus), which I created as I did you; he eats grass like an ox.
The problem with this theory is in verse 17:

17 He moves his tail like a cedar tree;

Take a look at the pic.

I don't see anything that looks like a leaf, much less a whole Tree!

Then some people say that the Behemoth could be the elephant. After all, "tail" could be "trunk."

WRONG!

In verse 24, God asks:

24 Can any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?

Well, the elephant hasn't a real nose to pierce, and if "some people" think that the trunk is the tail then where is the behemoth's nose?

Hmmm...

I don't know.

Creationists believe that the behemoth is a sauropod dinosaur. I tend to agree with them.

Then we come to the "leviathon" in chapter 41. This animal is also given a commonplace name in the "Amplified Bible":

1 Can you draw out the leviathan (the crocodile) with a fishhook? Or press down his tongue with a cord?

Here is a problem right off the bat! If you can't draw out a croc with a fishhook, then what is that thing on the end of this guy's line?!

Problem #2 is in verse 19:

19 Out of his mouth go burning torches, [and] sparks of fire leap out.

I haven't ever seen a crocodile that breaths fire and sparks!

Problem #3 is in verse 30:

30 His underparts are like sharp pieces of broken pottery; he spreads grooves like a threshing sledge upon the mire.

Well, I couldn't get a picture of a croc's slide, but do you think that underbelly could make grooves?

I don't think so.

So what is the leviathan? I believe he was a ferocious sea dragon.

There you go!

The final problem with the Leviathan being a nasty croc, and the Behemoth being the noseless elephant or the tailless hippo appears in verse 33 of chapter 41, which, incidentally, is the last verse in that chapter. Here it is:

33 Upon earth there is not his (the crocodile's) equal, a creature made without fear and he behaves fearlessly.

Here is the main problem:

Hippos eat crocs for lunch!

David is finally back from Georgia. Not only did his connections fail a bunch of times, but he had to stay overnite in the Airport hotel. He is now back and spry as ever; I don't think the camp changed him one bit. He's still the same old David to me.

Tennis camp went well while it lasted, and I improved 100%. When David got back, I beat him 3 games to 1. PAYBACK!

A real "Cable" story

One day my Bro answerwed the phone. he thought it was his friend Eric, because he had been expecting him to call. It was really a guy from The Cable company whose voice sounded like Eric's. Now, My Bro and my Dad kinda sortahave the same first name, but not really. Sometimes, when the mail comes it'll look like my Bro has a lot of bills to pay! :-) Well the cable man asked for my dad, and since my Bro thought it was Eric, he said "He is speaking". Well the guy thought it was my dad, so he started rattling off this Cable "deal," saying that we could all these channels and extra shtuff from the Cable Company. My bro realized who it was, and quickly swung into action. When the guy was finished My bro said he wasn't interested. Then the guy asked if we already had cable. My Bro said no. Then he asked if we had Sattelite. My Bro said no. then the guy got curious. He asked why. My bro said that there is so much bad stuff on TV that it is not worthwhile to have to pay for. But the cable man wasn't finished. He drew out his last arrow. "Ah,"he said,"we have a thingamajigger that you can use to take out all the "bad shtuff"." My Bro wasn't finished either. He said politely,"When we were finished clearing those certain channels, there would be no channels left." The guy said "Oh," and hung up.

Yesterday we did nothing. We just sat around in our bed clothes and watched two movies. Oh, if you hadn't already guessed, we don't have cable or Sattelite TV connection. All we have is MOVIES! We don't watch them often, but when we do it is a huge treat. We do cable internet, and it is super fast. OH yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;=(

Hey y'all,

It's been a while, and I'm sorry I haven't been able to post. We've been pretty busy, and last week we went to a bluegrass camp at the Kentucky Horsepark. It was a lot of fun, and though I played fiddle, I could play pretty much all of the instruments that were there (not to brag :-) ).

My bro D3 played the guitar (we just got a steel-string cutaway Harmony), and my sister plucked away at the banjo. We got to swim and do a bunch of other cool stuff.

I also met two guys from Eastern Kentucky that both played the fiddle and were very good at it. They were lots of fun to play with.

Okay, umm. . . . (My brother is typing this for me, so he is putting in some of the things I'm saying in between words) GRRR!!! David!

I have been keeping a journal outside of the computer lately ever since my best frend came from Missouri. Uh . . . dah dah dah . . . I like to keep a journal, it's fun to look back over the years and see what I've been doing.

Last week we had testing and were gone every morning so I never got a chance to post. This week will be a bit better; I can't WAIT to finish school. When I next mow our lawn, I'll get 15 bucks and then I'll buy myself a pair of waders so that I can get in the creek and catch BIG minnows (isn't that an oximoron?). I've been having lots of fun lately. Today we go into a neighboring city for violin lessons. Hello! It's Easter Afternoon, and our family has just come home from church after starting this morning at 5:45, to make it to the Sunrise service. After that we went upstairs and ate a pancake breakfast. I ate 13 pancakes! My brother, David, beat me with 15. Oh, well. What was cool was, the pastor announced it. Oh, well.
